Dillon slams Kerry farmers and Dairygold

KERRY farmers and Dairygold Co-op have both been criticised by IFA leader John Dillon in one of his strongest attacks on the milk processing sector.

He has challenged processors to “open your books”, and show producers the actual cost of processing a gallon of milk, before they proceed with further reductions in the milk price.

He said it is no longer acceptable that farmers who supported amalgamations to enable processors cut costs are asked to accept a milk price cut every time pressure comes on processors.
