Committee posts up for grabs

THERE will be contests next week for the chair of both the sheep committee and the suckler committee in the Irish Cattle and Sheep Farmers’ Association.

General Secretary Eddie Punch yesterday confirmed there will be elections for both positions at the Bridge House, Tullamore, next Wednesday.

Gabriel Gilmartin, Ballintrillick, Co Sligo, and Mervyn Sunderland, Redcross, Co Wicklow, are vying for the position of sheep chairman.
