Beet growers welcome rail news

Beet growers in the Southeast have welcomed an announcement from the Department of Transport that work on the Cahir railway bridge on the main Waterford to Limerick rail line is progressing well, and it is scheduled to re-open for business on September 1.

The bridge collapsed at the beginning of the beet haulage season last year, which proved to be a major inconvenience for beet growers in the South East.
