FARMERS sometimes need to be reminded that they are not supermen or wonder women and that they should not sacrifice safety on their farms for the sake of getting a job done more quickly.
Level of serious accidents too high

Macra na Feirme president Thomas Honner, who issued the warning, said the level of serious accidents on farms was still far too high. It was vital farmers were vigilant in implementing safety measures to prevent lives being put at risk.

Mr Honner said all farmers should have a farm safety statement and update it on a regular basis.
