Dairygold seek confirmation of support

DAIRYGOLD will hold a special general meeting of shareholders in Mallow on Friday to confirm a recent majority vote by members in favour of restructuring proposals for the co-op.

An overwhelming majority of the 1,443 members voted earlier this month to allow the transfer of Dairygold's non-core businesses Consumer Foods, 4HOME and Alchemy Properties into a wholly-owned subsidiary of the co-op.

Now, in accordance with the society's rules, that vote must be confirmed through a second special general meeting vote by members. Dairygold chairman John Walsh urged members to do their best to attend the 11.30am meeting and confirm their support for the group's current business strategy.
