Farm machinery exhibition ploughs up acres of praise
Organised by the Farm Tractor and Machinery Trade Association (FTMTA) it was the first time the event was staged outside Dublin.
Trade stand holders and visitors said they were delighted with the new venue for the show, which is held every two years.
Exhibitors also reported a high level of interest with many deals being done and more anticipated as a result of contacts made.
A number of exhibitors who have been participating at the show since the first was held in 1989 described it as the “best ever”.
More than 700 machines were displayed by 110 exhibitors together with hundreds of smaller items connected with farming.
The total value of all products on display amounted to €20 million.
FTMTA show committee chairman Michael Devane said the large number of people who passed through the turnstiles gave the show the big “thumbs up” for its content, new location and free car parking.
Trade stand exhibitors also voiced their praise for the show, stating their pleasure at the ease of access to the location and the level of enquiries and business conducted, he said.
