Maher new chairman of Agri Aware

Ireland: Tipperary farmer TJ Maher, the former Macra na Feirme president, is the new chairman of Agri Aware. He succeeds Mike Magan who served for two years.

Mr Maher said he was looking forward to helping Agri Aware with its work in promoting a positive image of the farming and food industry, bridging the urban rural divide and carrying on its key educational function.

He paid tribute to Mike Magan for his stewardship of Agri Aware, which has two new patron directors, Anne Keohane, Bandon Co-op and Kieran O’Connor, Glanbia, who replaced Tom Keane, Met Eireann and Michael Russell, Centenary Co-op.
