Greencore and IFA will talk

GREENCORE and the IFA have indicated their willingness to discuss issues arising from the company’s decision to close Carlow Sugar Factory and consolidate all processing in Mallow.

Agriculture and Food Minister Mary Coughlan yesterday said the IFA and Greencore had assured her of a willingness to immediately engage in high-level discussions.

She said she had been urging this approach as the only means of resolving the outstanding issues between the sides.
