Frozen lamb being sold as fresh to consumer

FROZEN lamb being sold as fresh is the latest breach of the food labelling rules, according to farmers.

Complaining Irish lamb producers have been told there is nothing to prevent retailers from engaging in the practice, as there is nothing illegal about it.

Nevertheless, the Limerick IFA chairman, Michael O’Flynn said it is intolerable at a time of transparency and accountability for Irish producers.
