Greens call for speciality food ‘common sense’

GREEN PARTY deputy leader Cllr Mary White urged the Government to show common sense towards the growing artisan or speciality food producers and to introduce flexibility into the rules that are primarily more suited to large-scale companies.

The sector is worth €450m to the economy and employs some 3,000 people. It is helping to bring employment to rural black spots and to develop a vibrant rural economy.
