Co-op ditches pig farmers

CALLS for efficient farming have a hollow ring to them after Dairygold Co-op left its pig producers in the lurch last week.

In one fell swoop, some of the most efficient farmers in Ireland were ditched by a farmer’s co-op.

Irish pig farmers have always had to run faster than the rest, in order to stay competitive.
