Listerlin would be ideal for a small stud farm

THIS farm at Listerlin, New Ross is not easily categorised.

While it’s described as non-residential, it has an old cut-stone farmhouse and out-offices ripe for conversion.

And, while the address is in Co Kilkenny, the land is just a 15 minute drive from Waterford city, between New Ross and Mullinavat.

The 50 acres is in one block, of which 30 are eligible for area aid.

Some 20 acres are under tillage; the balance is in grass.

Auctioneer Barry Kehoe of Kehoe and Associates says the land is mostly exceptionally free-draining.

Three fields have road frontage, and a new access roadway leads to the farmyard. Part of the land is stud fenced; it would make an ideal small stud farm, says the auctioneer.

The old house site has particularly impressive views and would be an ideal house site.

Mr Kehoe’s guide price is €300,000, and he expects considerable interest from farmers and non-farmers alike at the auction on May 28 at 3pm in the firm’s auction room at New Ross.
