Nightmare smells anger residents

LOCAL residents in the Waterford road area of Clonmel are still enduring unpleasant smells on a daily basis possibly coming from the wastewater treatment plant or the Ronan tannery across the river Suir.

Local resident George Mordaunt claimed that living with this nuisance on a daily basis is turning into a nightmare. Mr Mordaunt, who both lives and works in the area, added that “the smell is absolutely stifling to the point that it is the same as having a slurry tank open and inside in your house”.

Despite the severity of the problem, however, he said that it is impossible to get anybody on the phone.
