LAMB prices have strengthened this week against a background of continuing scarce supplies and a major price rise in Britain.

IFA Sheep Committee chairman Laurence Fallon said a big jump in British prices provided the Irish factories with a real potential to increase prices for the French market to Irish farmers.

Irish prices have bounced back with €3.64/kg (130p/lb) available.
