Reynolds to chair Young Farmer panel

FORMER Taoiseach Albert Reynolds has been confirmed as the chairman of the final adjudicating panel at this year’s FBD Young Farmer of the Future Awards, which takes place in Bloomfield House, Mullingar, September 6.

Other highlights of the day include a debate between the declared candidates in the IFA presidential election - Padraig Walshe, Raymond O’Malley and Ruaidhri Deasy - and a farm walk on Michael O’Leary’s nearby Gigginstown House farm and stud.

The winner will be announced at a banquet in Bloomfield House, with top prize being a sculpture by artist Raymond Kinghan, a travel bursary worth €2,500 and €1,000 spending money.
