Farm sells for €37,364 per acre

A RESIDENTIAL farm in Ballyhannon north, Quin, Co Clare, sold for €37,364 per acre at auction, through Paddy Darmody, of Sherry FitzGerald McMahon, last week.

The farm was sold in three lots - a dwelling house on 1.2 acres; a site of 1.45 acres; and the bulk of the farm, 37.61 acres of excellent farmland, according to Mr Darmody. The entire property was sold for €1,145,000 after bids from four sources.

Paddy Darmody said the price showed evidence of strong demand for small-to-medium parcels of land, and pockets from road compensation.
