A field of dreams in 21 acres

IT’S a field, but what a field. All 21 acres in grass, it has come on the market at Monalahy, Newcastle, near Blarney in Co Cork.

For sale by private treaty with estate agent Dan Fleming, it is going to have appeal far beyond the hinterland, and beyond the farming community.

Ideal as a land add-on, a hobby farm, an equestrian venture, market garden or a trophy hobby farm, it has a price guide of €15,000 an acre, or €300,000-plus. Expect that to be a big plus.

“The field is known for its fattening quality, it is superb land with absolutely no waste,” says Mr Fleming.

It also has the practicalities of road frontage, a mains water supply and views - all within a short drive of Blarney village (four miles or so, via Waterloo), and close to the N20, so Cork city is only a 15 minute spin away.

Expect the phones at Dan Fleming’s to be busy in the coming weeks.
