Call for co-ordinated biofuels approach

While the recent announcement by Noel Dempsey on biofuels was welcome, it only went a minor step towards encouraging their production, Fine Gael Communications and Natural Resources spokesperson Bernard Durkan claimed.

“Recent submissions to the Committee on Communications, Energy and Natural Resources showed that a well-researched and co-ordinated approach involving all departments stood the best chance of developing the industry in a businesslike fashion and in a way which would meet the requirements of all departments and, most of all, the consumer,” said Mr Durkan.
