Conference to discuss food safety
Organised by Teagasc Ashtown Food Research Centre, it is the final in a series of six conferences held across Europe over the last three years by the European Union Risk Analysis Information Network.
Experts will discuss why an estimated 10%-30% of the populations in industrialised countries suffer food-borne illnesses every year, usually due to food contamination, and why the health of millions is at risk due to being overweight or obese.
Agriculture, food and today’s lifestyle, diet, sport and obesity, functional foods and food safety will be among the issues discussed.
