IFA National Dairy Committee chairman Michael Murphy has welcomed Kerry’s early decision to hold the price for August milk.

He said world markets remain buoyant with the price of most products, including casein in the US, still rising, cancelling out any negative impact from export refund and casein aid reductions.

“All co-ops must give their suppliers a confidence boost, now that the peak period is clearly behind us, and follow Kerry’s example by holding their milk price, at least for August.”
