Seminars on milk incomes

SENIOR industry executives such as Dairygold’s Jerry Henchy, Glanbia’s Jim Bergin and Connacht Gold’s Aaron Forde, will address regional seminars on dairy incomes organised by IFA next week.

The seminars will take place at the Mallow Park Hotel, Mallow on May 10, the Newpark Hotel, Kilkenny on May 11 and the Hodson Bay Hotel, Athlone on May 12, at 7 pm. IFA National Dairy Chairman Michael Murphy said they offer information on how to improve farm efficiency and breeding, and the opportunity for farmers to hear their co-ops’ plans.

Commenting after the milk price cut by Kerry Group, he said, “Dairy farmers’ incomes are already under huge pressure and they cannot afford an endless price slide. Farmers are demanding that co-ops cut deep into their own cost structures to hold producer prices.”
