Golden deal for Glanbia

GLANBIA has consolidated its position as Ireland’s largest milk processor by agreeing to pack Connaught Gold’s retail butter requirements.

In return, Connaught Gold will supply Glanbia with milk powder.

Glanbia processes more than 40% of the total Irish milk and whey pool, to make more than 275,000 tonnes of ingredient products.

Both Glanbia and Connaught Gold will retain separate commercial arrangements and contracts with their existing suppliers and customers, a similar arrangement to that agreed when Dairygold Co-op traded its 28 million-litre CMP liquid milk pool to Glanbia this year.

The 130 suppliers to CMP will continue to sell their milk to Dairygold Co-op.
