Food experts put bite in conference

Some of the world’s leading experts in food technology, nutrition and consumption trends will attend an international food conference in Dublin on June 17 and 18 as part of Ireland’s EU presidency.

It is organised by Teagasc, in association with UCD, UCC and the Department of Agriculture and Food, and will feature addresses by Agriculture Minister Joe Walsh and EU Health and Consumer Protection Commissioner David Byrne.

Northern Foods former chairman Lord Haskins, Glanbia group innovation director Peadar Hegarty, Teagasc Dairy Products Research Centre’s Dr Paul Ross, Moorepark, TCD professor Michael Gibney, as well as food scientists and nutrition experts from the US, Britain and Europe will speak in the O’Reilly Hall, UCD.
