He said, “Minister Walsh as a politician will be remembered as a European rather than parochial, yet for ICSA his finest achievement was his ability to listen to the farming grassroots and introduce full decoupling in line with ICSA policy.”
“As a person he is reserved, yet sincere and has the ability to demonstrate personal concern, surpassing political involvement”, said Mr Thompson. He said the Minister will be remembered for his clear, intelligent thought process, which put pragmatism in front of political expediency.
