Plenty of ideas for the new season

THE new ICA year is beginning in September and all members are looking forward to returning to their meetings.
Plenty of ideas for the new season

At a committee meeting prior to this, or sometimes at the June meeting, the year’s activities are planned. Craft teachers are booked for Craft Classes during the winter, as well as demonstrators for all kinds of interesting new ideas.

In fact, it depends on what the members would like to see and do for the coming year.

Being a member also means that you can enter any competition such as those held on Federation Day, Dancing and Ballad Competitions and Quizzes organised by the Federation. Many competitions go on to national level.

Members also take part in proficiency tests known as Brannrai, in several crafts as well as in Produce. There are also Arts Awards to be explored.

If you are not already a member why not go along to your nearest guild who will be delighted to have you?

Being an ICA member will provide a new dimension to your life and you will make some new friends with similar interests as well as perhaps learning a new craft.

Watch these notes for news of upcoming Craft Days and other events. For information in Cork please ring Federation Secretary, Judy O’Leary at 029/70135 who will give you the name of your nearest guild and when and where they hold their meetings.
