Pressure on milk, farm input prices

YOU can’t underestimate the changes in dairy farming after the Fischler reforms, says Corkman Frank O’Mahony, vice-chairman of Macra’s Agricultural Affairs Committee.

He predicts milk prices coming under continued pressure and farm input costs continuing to escalate.

Each dairy farmer must now seek independent advice and consider the options, and he has called on co-ops around the country to hold information seminars with their suppliers and provide themselves with up to date advice on the options available to each them.
