Local exhibitors shine at popular flower show

AUTUMN’S mellow fruitfulness was on show in Co Limerick at the 36th Newcastlewest Flower Show.

Prize money of €2,200 and 25 cups were on offer, and local exhibitors Patrick and Mary McCarthy of Ducateen excelled themselves, scoring most points in the show.

The top points in the fruit and vegetable sections were scored by Kathleen Cunningham of Ballyagran. Other multiple trophy winners included Mary O’Connor, Feohanagh in cookery and Pat Golding in cut flowers.
