WINTER barley yields are averaging 7.9 tonnes per hectare (3.2 t/acre), according to last week’s Teagasc crop report.

Yields are reported from 6.54 t/ha to 9.588t/ha.

With most crops looking well, the harvest is on course towards a Pre-harvest Forum prediction of more than 2.2 million tonnes of grain.
