Minister to approve petfeed contents

Arrangements for the use of certain categories of meat and bonemeal in dried petfeed are being finalised by Agriculture and Food Minister Mary Coughlan.

She said the arrangements are to facilitate the use of certain animal by-products in composting-biogas plants and in fertilisers.

Primarily, the moves follow recent EU legislation dealing with animal by-products and composting-biogas plants.
