Ahern opens E1.5m conference centre

Congratulating the IFA on its golden jubilee, Mr Ahern said it had made a huge contribution to farming and society. He also paid tribute to the organisation’s generosity in the midst of their celebrations, through a contribution of 100,000 to relief for rural communities in devastated Asian countries. “I want to pay particular tribute to the effectiveness of your leadership and organisation, reflected in the professionalism of your celebrations. I particularly commend John Dillon who, despite obvious physical suffering caused by his unfortunate accident last year, has been tireless in representing your interests”.
