More than €5.6m for Munster farms
The deal is not completely sewn up, and the Ferguson family have yet to move from the 142 acre farm.
The selling agent is Paddy Murray of ERA Paddy Murray, and the property has been bought in trust by Mike Brady of the Brady Group, through a solicitor.
Brothersfort is regarded as one of the best farms in the area, says Mr Murray, in one manageable block with road frontage on two sides and more than 1,000 yards of frontage onto the Brinny River.
The farm was launched on the market with a price tag of “in excess of €3 million”.
Meanwhile, Mike Brady and joint agent, John Anthony of Anthony and Co., have sold a high-quota dairy farm at Ring, Co Waterford. The property, which had two gos on the sales roundabout, came with 84 acres of land and a whopping 102,000 gallons of quota. The guide price was “in excess of €1.2 million” and it made close to €1.6 million.
The purchasers are believed to be from North Cork and West Cork.
