Producers bid to end Kerry dispute

STEPS are being taken to resolve a lengthy price dispute between liquid milk suppliers and Kerry Co-op.

Over 100 liquid milk suppliers to Kerry Co-op unanimously decided at a meeting to support their chairman Cormac Guinan in seeking a meeting with Kerry’s management to resolve the crisis regarding prices paid for liquid milk.

Mr Guinan, chairman of Kerry Liquid Milk Producers (KLMP) group, said liquid milk suppliers have given a mandate to seek a meeting with Kerry management and negotiate a settlement.

“The bottom line is that we as suppliers want to receive a fair return for our product, which will give us a viable future,” he said.
