Mixed store trade at marts

Marts: There was a mixed trade for store cattle yesterday with some sale centres reporting stronger demand at improved prices, while other centres experienced a weakening of the trade on last week.
Mixed store trade at marts

Either way the change is not dramatic, and the demand for quality store animals is very strong with prices at least on par with the same time last year.

Choice continental store bullocks were making €400 over €/kg at the sales yesterday and up to €450-over was paid for the heavier animals close to finishing for beef. The trade for the store heifer is also holding strong, with very little change from last week. Up to €350 over €/kg is being paid for the choice heavy heifers which will finish for beef in the next six to eight weeks.
