IFA’s message for Blair

“TELL Tony Blair this issue is non-negotiable,” was IFA’s message to Taoiseach Bertie Ahern as he travelled to today’s EU Summit meeting.

“There can be no question of the 2002 EU Heads of Government decision on the CAP budget up to 2013 being re-opened now as part of the negotiations on the EU Financial Perspectives negotiations,” said IFA President John Dillon.

He said: “Ireland accepted the 2003 CAP reform including decoupling of direct payments on the basis of budget security at least until 2013.”
