Farmers get low call charges deal

Farm Telecom, a specifically tailored family farm telephone package to take account of the normal phone usage by a farm family was launched yesterday by family farm organisation ICMSA.
Farmers get low call charges deal

Farm Telecom provides farm households with the lowest call charges available in Ireland and offers significant savings on the next nearest offer.

The package was designed in association with Direct Dial Telecom and with the assistance of O’Reilly Ledwith Consultants.

ICMSA president Pat O’Rourke said the association was sharply focused on farm incomes and on improving returns from the market place.

“Telephones are an essential important but costly input into the business of farming. ICMSA, conscious of the disadvantage suffered by farmers, in the past sought government action on competition to reduce the cost of phones to farmers. I am now delighted that we are now directly involved in the next phase of actually delivering these savings to farmers,” he said.

Farm Telecom provides by far the lowest charges available in Ireland.

“The ICMSA Farm Telecom minimum call charge is less than half the IFA offer. Based on phone usage half of all calls made incur the minimum charge. We all know as parents and as farmers that the mobile phone is now central to farm business and domestic purposes. Under ICMSA Farm Telecom, calls to mobile phones at all times cost less than the IFA offer and current Eircom rates,” continued Mr O’Rourke.
