CORK farmers dominated the Dungarvan Show cattle championships, with Michael McGrath, Cloyne, winning the Glanbia Super Cow and overall dairy title and Maher Cup, and noted Charolais breeder Jim Ryall, Midleton, taking the prestigious Radley Spire trophy.

Frank Cunningham and Pat Whyte dominated the sheep show, with Frank taking the overall championship.

Rosemary Connors showed the Champion Young Horse, a three-year-old, Woodfield Nick, and won the Robin Hunt Memorial Cup for Working Hunters, with Woodfield Sky. Her daughter Sarah won the small ridden hunter section and Reserve Championship. The ridden champion was Brid Shannon of Rath, Co Limerick’s My Little Giant. Richard Drohan showed the Champion Filly; Co Wicklow exhibitor Ivor Kearney won the Observer Cup for brood mares.
