Macra opposes scheme cutbacks

MACRA na Feirme has threatened to vigorously oppose any moves to restrict the installation aid scheme, which provides assistance for young people entering farming.

President Thomas Honner said the scheme is an essential measure in providing valuable financial support to young trained entrants.

Fine Gael spokesperson Billy Timmins, TD, also warned the Government not to mess with the scheme.
