Machinery Show draws full house
The show takes place on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, February 4-6, at the Punchestown Exhibition Centre.
To cater for the unprecedented demand for space, three large solid sided marquees are being built alongside the main Punchestown Exhibition Centre.
Another innovation is the open exhibition area where a number of companies will display bigger machines.
The Farm Machinery Show at Punchestown will be used by a number of manufacturers, Irish and international, to launch a whole range of new farm machines, products and services.
Many will be seen for the first time in this country.
Included is the new Irish made McHale baler and wrapper unit. New tractors will be on show from Case, John Deere, Fendt, JCB, Landini, McCormick, Massey Ferguson, New Holland, Valtra, Zetor.
“Almost every company exhibiting at the new look show will have something new to offer, ranging from hand tools to the largest combine harvesters”, said Show Committee chairman, Michael Devane.
“The show is also being supported by a number of farming financial institutions and other organisations such as IT Tralee, the Health and Safety Authority, and Teagasc”.
The Farm Machinery Show, which will be officially opened by Agriculture and Food Minister Joe Walsh, TD, will be the biggest covered display of farm machinery ever staged in Ireland.
It will be an extra special event for 15 mechanics and technicians, when they receive their course certificates at Punchstown, after completing the new IT Tralee Farm Electronics Course.
They are the first graduates of this new course for agricultural mechanics, held in conjunction with the FTMTA. It began in September with an introduction to computers and the Internet, and also covered electronics, sensors and diagnostics, at Pallaskenry Agricultural College and IT Tralee.
