SWS celebrates as minister presents quality award
Over the years, the SWS Group has secured contracts from a wide range of services including the Department of Agriculture and Food’s national calf birth registration agency which it has operated for ten years.
It has to date registered over twenty million calves and issued passports for these animals.
The division also operates the contract for the recording of farm-to-farm movements of cattle covering some one million private sales of animals each year.
It also provides data processing, call centre services and reporting functions for the national pig identification and traceability system. The division, which has 210 full-time and part-time employees, provides call centre and reporting services for the Personal Injuries Assessment Board, finance and circulation services for Independent Newspapers and data processing for gardaí and the Department of Transport.
Minister Coughlan said the award by the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI) underlines the high standards achieved by SWS in fulfilling the various contracts to the highest standards.
SWS Group chief executive Kieran Calnan said the award is the culmination of two years work in the division. While SWS has always operated to the highest standards, it was very happy to have third party endorsement of its systems and operations.
