Kerry IFA rejects ESB compensation

Kerry IFA chairman John Stack has rejected an ESB compensation package being offered to farmers in north Kerry on the 110 KV Tarbert to Tralee line, stating that the ESB offer is insulting to landowners and does not provide sufficient compensation for the impact of the line on farmers’ lands.

“The package being offered to landowners fails to take account of the full impacts of new transmissions lines on property values in the area, and is offering a derisory amount to those who are impacted by lines.”

Mr Stack said that the considered view of Kerry IFA is that this offer from ESB is not good enough and should be rejected by all landowners affected by the line.
