Farmers worried over land leases

Ireland: Many retired farmers due to renew leases on land are finding it difficult to do so, says Fine Gael agriculture spokesman Denis Naughten.

He said these farmers are now extremely worried they will lose their farm retirement pension altogether if they fail to sign a new lease.

“Retired farmers are finding many people who leased land are now being advised to avoid land leasing and instead stack single farm payments.
