I AM writing this on the type of high that can only be achieved after watching a match such as Sunday’s quarter-final against Spurs.

ONE of the weekend’s headlines was “Lucky Devils.” But the results that United are getting don’t have too much to do with luck.

IT’S BEEN a far from quiet week for the Chelsea faithful this week. Porto was a very enjoyable day indeed. Sipping drinks on the banks of the Duoro river was a very pleasant way to while away a day, with a Champions League game to look forward to in the evening.

ANOTHER week, another lesson in class from the Gooners and the Scousers. We have so much to learn when it comes to taunting, belittling and goading opposition players and managers.

YOU always know you’re dealing with losers when opposition fans start to chant the names of rival teams in an attempt to wind you up.

SO Chelsea have overcome a couple of potential banana skins. Blackburn in the end were disposed of very simply indeed, but Charlton weren’t the easy proposition that many (but not me) had predicted.

IT’S been a stress free week after the nightmare that was Anfield. José is smiling again, we disposed of Wycombe very, very easily, as should be expected — and as for Forest, well, we didn’t even seem to break sweat.

I LOOK fondly upon those days where I used to scour the papers for a mere mention of my beloved Chelsea. Most of the time I wouldn’t find anything of course; we were nobodies — not newsworthy in any way.

MOST giants, it seems, survived last weekend unscathed (with one notable exception — although that was more of a case of Goliath slaying Goliath).
