Perhaps it is an age thing, but I was deeply saddened over the past few days when it was confirmed that the HMV stores would not be re-opening in Ireland.

The greening of the world last weekend was quite extraordinary to behold. I witnessed some of it first hand in a very chaotic New York and was astounded by the whole ‘Irish thing’ that has virtually every nationality in the city wearing green.

THE eurozone crisis has now been effectively trundling on for the best part of two years, and rather than being closer to a solution it would appear that we may be as far away as ever, if the vague message that came out of last weekend’s summit is anything to go by.
