Anthony Daly: Charisma and character oozed from every pore of Waterford's golden generation
W HEN Johnny Ryan blew the half-time whistle in the 2014 Dublin-Waterford league relegation final, the four members of the Waterford management surrounded Johnny as effectively as a Tyrone or Armagh blanket defence would have done when they first started gobbling up opposition forwards.

Anthony Daly: It'd be a sin for the GAA to spend the rest of the year cat-calling, squabbling, and in-fighting
After Clare defeated Wexford in the 2005 All-Ireland quarter-final, I walked over to Fr Harry Bohan in the Croke Park dressingroom and made a proud pronouncement, knowing full well it would rekindle an old flame in Harry’s soul, and reignite a dormant dream the man had chased so relentlessly three decades earlier.

Diarmaid Byrnes and Tom Morrissey Limerick’s unlucky duo
Diarmaid Byrnes and Tom Morrissey Limerick’s unlucky duo

There’s usually less debate about the hurling All-Stars than you get with the football All-Stars.

Cork need to put steel fist into silk glove
Cork need to put steel fist into silk glove

When Cork finally hit a rhythm and a groove in the second quarter yesterday, everybody around me was probably thinking the same as the entire hurling community. ‘Yeah, Cork have finally got it together now. They’ve weathered the storm. They’ll drive on. They’ll win this handy.’ And the Cork players certainly seemed to think the same.

This Cork side know all about hurt. Tomorrow is time for joy

The last quarter of the 2015 Munster minor semi-final was one of the sweetest 15 minutes that I ever put down as a coach, writes Anthony Daly

I loved that rush but I’ve also seen final day break some fellas
I loved that rush but I’ve also seen final day break some fellas

When the mood takes me, I’ll often head back to the Atlantic Ocean in west Clare for a dip. Beautiful spots, every one of them.

The hurling academy: A Limerick legend’s legacy
The hurling academy: A Limerick legend’s legacy

The Limerick academy I was involved with for three years was about fostering a culture of doing things the right way — and not necessarily all about winning. Some people in the county had issues with me over that but I never had anyone say a single negative thing to my face, writes Anthony Daly
