Urevo CyberPad review: A stylish, high-incline solution for home fitness
The Urevo CyberPad: A stylish, high-performance solution for bringing movement into the home. Picture: Urevo
I am not a gym person. I have never enjoyed the bright lights and crowded machines of a fitness centre. While I love a long cycle or a coastal walk when I am on holiday, my daily schedule is much tighter. I need to make every minute count, so being able to catch up on a TV series while getting my steps in is a massive draw. With autumn here, it’s time to look at indoor options that do not waste time.

The CyberPad feels well-made and has a heavy build, though that weight is a double-edged sword. While the smooth wheels at the front make moving it across a flat floor easy, do not attempt to carry it up or down stairs by yourself. I know, because I tried.
It’s designed primarily for use with a standing desk, so there is no built-in handrail, but you can purchase one as an optional extra. I was surprised by how quiet the 2.5 HP motor is, and the integrated lighting system gives it a modern, almost spaceship-like aesthetic.

The CyberPad is a compact unit, measuring 109 x 58 x 16 cm, with a running area of 100 x 42 cm. The display runs along the top bar, with large, easy-to-read text while you’re using the CyberPad. It also comes with a remote that looks more like a TV remote. I typically kept this in my pocket during workouts, but there’s no tether to the pad for an emergency stop. And of course, there’s an app to track your progress, display stats, and even serve as a remote control. The speed ranges from 1km/h to 6km/h, but the real surprise is the auto-incline, which reaches up to 14%. For a machine this size, that provides a serious workout. It can support a maximum load of 181kg, which speaks to the quality of the construction.
I found the "working while walking" concept a bit tricky. My home office is on the smaller side, and the constant need to switch between my chair and sliding the CyberPad under my desk felt awkward and disrupted my concentration. It might work perfectly in a larger, more dedicated setup, but for me, the living room was better. I used it while watching TV, which made the time fly. However, I would strongly advise against using it during a rugby match. Trying to navigate the Nations Championship while walking was a recipe for disaster.
On a positive note, the app is excellent. The virtual walks through real-world locations gave me the motivation to hit my distance goals.
The Urevo CyberPad is a high-quality setup. The build is top-notch and the features, particularly the incline and the app, are excellent. While it may not fit every workspace or workflow, it is a brilliant tool for anyone looking to integrate movement into their daily routine.
