FlexiSpot E7 Flow review: A premium standing desk that nails the basics
The dual motor C-shaped legs give the E7 Flow its strength and stability at any height. Picture: FlexiSpot.
A good standing desk should feel stable, lift smoothly, move quickly, and stay quiet enough that you barely notice it changing height. The FlexiSpot E7 Flow features a 180kg load capacity, 50mm per second speed, quiet dual motors, and includes a clever cable management system. It tries to bring order and simplicity to a workspace without adding fuss.

FlexiSpot positions the E7 Flow as a premium model built for users who want both strength and a clean working environment. You can feel that intent the moment you unbox it. The C-shaped legs give it a modern and slightly more muscular stance, and the frame is noticeably heavier than standard two-leg setups. That extra mass pays off. Even at full height, the desk does not wobble when typing or leaning on the edge.
I received the Fuji White model, a creamy off-white finish, and it also comes in a Volcano Grey option. It has a quiet, understated look that blends easily into a home office without feeling dull. The desktop has FlexiSpot’s first ergonomic feature: a shallow-sloping, bevelled front edge, a small addition that improves comfort during day-to-day use. It softens the contact point on the wrists and removes the sharp edge you often feel after a long session.
Underneath, the frame is engineered with practicality in mind with routing channels, bracing points, and cable management, all of which feel well thought out. The motor housings sit cleanly within the legs structure, and once everything is assembled, the whole frame feels like a single piece rather than parts bolted together.
The E7 Flow arrives in three boxes. Two of the boxes contain the legs and frame components, and the third contains the desktop. Everything is well protected with thick padding and smart packing layouts that stop parts from shifting in transit. It felt like FlexiSpot designed the packaging with the expectation that couriers will treat heavy parcels with little sympathy.
Inside the boxes, you get every tool needed to assemble the desk, along with a clear manual that illustrates each stage in simple steps. FlexiSpot recommends building it with two people. Not out of choice, I built it alone with some careful manoeuvring and the help of an electric screwdriver, although I would not call it an easy one-person job. Everything aligns properly, which makes the process smoother, and the bolt lengths are well chosen so you never have that moment of wondering whether something is threading incorrectly.
The legs come preassembled, so you only need to attach the feet on each side. My only gripe is that the legs and feet are matching pairs, but nothing is labelled. I only realised this after fitting them incorrectly the first time and having to redo it.
The heaviest part is lifting the assembled frame onto the desktop and flipping the whole desk upright. With two people, this would be trivial. Solo builders should take it slow. Once it is upright, the structure feels solid, and the motors initialise quickly.

The E7 Flow has dual motors with a 180kg load capacity and 50mm per second adjustment speed. Unlike cheaper standing desks, the motors are relatively quiet, producing less than 50dB of noise. The feet have circular posts that screw into position and allow for adjustment to ensure you get a stable and level desk. Everything feels smooth with a perfect level from sitting to standing positions.
The control panel uses a responsive touch LED display that gives clear height readings. You also get USB-C for topping up devices, which is handy for quick access. The memory presets work reliably and lock into place instantly. Anti-collision sensitivity can be adjusted using the touch panel, and in my testing it detected every intentional obstruction I placed under the desk. This matters because anything left beneath the desk during height changes could otherwise be crushed. Thanks to the anti-collision system, the desk senses resistance and automatically reverses the motors to prevent damage.
The built-in cable tray is one of the Flow’s best features. It closes magnetically and includes a six-outlet power strip that sits neatly inside. This lets you plug in everything under the desktop and run a single power cable to the wall. The result is a clean setup with no dangling wires. The tray keeps everything hidden, although the internal height is not generous, so bulky power adapters can be awkward to use.
FlexiSpot advertises the Flow as twice as fast and almost twice as strong as a traditional two-leg desk. I cannot verify the raw figures, but compared to other standing desks I have used, it definitely feels quicker and more confident when lifting heavy loads like dual monitors, speakers, and a desktop PC.
The adjustment range goes from 155cm to 200cm tall, and the 140cm by 80cm desktop gives enough space for multi-monitor setups without feeling cramped.
The E7 Flow motors move smoothly with no juddering at the start or end of travel. The sound level stayed low enough that I stayed comfortable adjusting the desk, even during video calls. At 50 mm per second, the transition from sitting to standing takes a few seconds, making it easier to switch positions more often.
Stability is excellent. With the desk raised to full height, I typed normally, leaned on the front edge, and placed weight unevenly on one corner. The desktop barely shifted. This is not something you can say about many mid-range electric desks, where any height above mid-level introduces some wobble.
Cable management is usually where standing desks fail, because movement exposes messy wiring. Here, the integrated tray makes a big difference. My setup looks cleaner than it ever has, and I have no loose cables snagging when the desk rises. The only limitation is that large plug heads are tricky to fit into the tray, so if your equipment uses chunky adapters, it might take some rearranging.
The ergonomic bevelled edge is something I initially dismissed as a marketing flourish, but after long sessions, I noticed the benefit. It is easier on the wrists and gives a more natural resting position.
During the review period, the desk never missed a height preset, never hesitated under load, and never felt like it was working hard to lift my setup. The motors maintain the same speed whether the desk is lightly or heavily loaded, which adds to that feel of refined control.
You also get position lock, low-power standby usage of only 0.2 W, and a ten-year warranty, which gives some peace of mind with a product that is not cheap.
The FlexiSpot E7 Flow is a premium standing desk that focuses on the details that matter. It is strong, fast, quiet, and stable. The integrated cable management lifts it above most competitors, and the overall build feels ready for serious multi-monitor or heavy workstation setups. It is not the cheapest option, and the cable tray can feel tight for bulky plugs, but as a daily working platform, it is one of the best desks I have used.
