Finding a balance between price, performance, and features in computer audio systems can be challenging—the Majority DX30 Bluetooth computer speakers with subwoofer aim to hit that sweet spot.

Design and build quality

The DX30 speakers impress right out of the box with their sleek, modern design. Thanks to their all-plastic construction, they are much lighter than expected, even the subwoofer. The stereo speakers and subwoofer are compact yet sturdy, fitting comfortably on most desks without compromising space. Since the sub isn’t directional, I placed it on the floor and the stereo speakers on either side of my nearly two-metre desk.

The speakers also have a wired physical desktop controller, which provides easy access to volume and bass, as well as a headphone jack.

Connectivity options

The USB-powered DX30 features Bluetooth 5.2, so you can seamlessly pair it with any Bluetooth-enabled device, offering the convenience of wireless audio streaming. Additionally, the AUX input provides a wired option for those who prefer a more stable and high-quality audio connection. The USB-A-powered functionality ensures a straightforward plug-and-play experience, making setting up and enjoying your audio content effortless.

Audio performance

Regarding sound quality, the Majority DX30 delivers a well-rounded performance. The 2.1-channel system, comprising dual speakers and a subwoofer, produces crystal-clear highs and a vibrant midrange, but the bass wasn’t as impactful as I was expecting from a dedicated subwoofer speaker. Separating the stereo speakers means you get a really wide soundstage, which I found great for music and gaming.

User experience

Using the Majority DX30 is straightforward and intuitive, but I wouldn’t say I liked the five wires out the back, which make for an untidy desk setup unless you push it to the back, where you can hide them. Although it is handy, I chose to keep it under the desk and use the media keys on my keyboard instead.

The Bluetooth pairing process is quick and hassle-free, and the AUX option provides flexibility for various audio sources.

Verdict

The Majority DX30 is an inexpensive desk speaker setup with compact speakers that look good. The combination of Bluetooth and AUX connectivity offers flexibility, while the desktop controller ensures user-friendly operation. The sound quality is decent, but I would have liked a little more impact from the bass. At 80W, the power output is more than adequate for most home office or gaming environments.
