Redmagic is well known for packing the latest and greatest technology into their gaming phones and peripherals. The Cyberbuds DAO TWS offer a seamless blend of connectivity, futuristic design, and customisable features tailored to the discerning needs of gamers. Packing Qualcomm's latest Bluetooth 5.3 technology, a minimal latency of 28ms, and compatibility across a spectrum of devices, these wireless earphones seek to revolutionise the gaming audio experience.

The Cyberbuds DAO TWS introduces a sleek and futuristic aesthetic that seamlessly aligns with the signature colours of the Redmagic gaming ecosystem. The transparent silver colour, stainless steel middle frame, and laser-engraved pattern contribute to its eye-catching design and emphasise durability.

The side-sliding cover design of the case and cool RGB lighting effects add a touch of class, making these earphones a style statement in addition to their functional prowess. The stand is a statement piece for any desk and doubles as a wireless charging stand. The knob can control your PC volume if connected via the included USB cable. Two USB-C ports on the back allow you to connect the USB 2.4 GHz wireless dongle in one, while the other can connect to your PC or console. You can toggle through five different RGB lighting modes or turn the lights off if you prefer. It looks great, and controlling the Cyberbuds using the tactile dial on the stand is excellent.
I rarely mention packaging or unboxing in my reviews, but the Cyberbuds come in a futuristic box that looks so good you won’t want to throw it away.

One of the standout features of the Cyberbuds is its low-latency mode, which is enabled through a matching dongle and reduces latency to as low as 28ms. This feature caters to the needs of gamers who demand a fast and responsive audio output, ensuring a seamless gaming experience.
The inclusion of EQ modes, accessible through the Goper application, allows users to tailor the audio profile to different gaming scenarios. These EQ modes optimise specific frequencies, enhancing the immersive quality of the audio output. Whether navigating a virtual battlefield or enjoying music, the Cyberbuds adapts to your unique preferences.
The only issue I have with the EQ feature is you can’t customise it. I found the presets excellent for gaming, but I would have liked the option to tweak the sound signature for music. Thankfully, there’s a good EQ option in the Apple Music app for Android, so I could do my tweaking there.

I paired the Cyberbuds with several phones, including the new Redmagic 9 Pro and on my Steam Deck, Nintendo Switch and PS4. I’m not a competitive gamer, but I couldn’t notice any lag. For those who like to game on a PC, having the stand is a major bonus because you can take advantage of the charging stand and volume control — using the same buds you have on your PC and mobile device, making the Cyberbuds incredibly versatile for gamers.

The audio system of the Cyberbuds is top-notch, earning it high-resolution wireless gold standard certification from the Japan Audio Society. With an 11mm composite biological diaphragm and active noise reduction of up to 48dB, these earphones deliver top-level sound quality. The ANC (Adaptive Noise Cancellation) feature, with multiple adaptive and manual noise reduction modes, ensures that users can customise their audio experience based on personal preferences. While the ANC isn’t class-leading, it works well and is a nice bonus for those who want to get lost in their music or game session.
Equipped with cVc three-mic call noise reduction technology, the Cyberbuds provide clarity in voice communication during gaming sessions. This technology minimises background noise, allowing users to communicate clearly, even in noisy environments.
The Goper application, available on the PlayStore and the App Store, offers great features, including codec format selection (SBC, AAC, LE Audio, aptX, and LHDC 5.0) to audio EQ modes, game modes, and lighting effects. The pop-up window pairing feature adds convenience for smartphone users, ensuring a hassle-free connection.

The Cyberbuds offer an impressive battery life of up to seven hours on a single charge. The charging base, equipped with a 350mAh battery, complements the earphones, providing ample power for on-the-go usage.
You can wirelessly charge the case and buds with the stand connected, which I found convenient because I always had a place to keep them. Nonetheless, the case has a USB-C connection for cable charging and can be charged with any Qi-compatible wireless charger.

The Cyberbuds feature limited touch controls and cannot be customised in the app. I also found controlling playback difficult, with a frequent lack of response to my touches. To avoid accidental inputs, there’s no single tap. The controls consist of double and triple taps and are shared between the left and right earbuds, which means you have to learn them by reading the manual. Unfortunately, there’s no way to control volume from the buds, but thankfully, you do get in-ear detection, which is sweet.
The Redmagic Cyberbuds DAO TWS offers exceptional sound quality for gaming on your phone, handheld device, home console, or PC. They’re also excellent for music, although I needed to tweak the sound using the EQ in the Apple Music app to turn down the bass. There’s nothing else out there quite like the Cyberbuds. Whether you're a dedicated gamer seeking low-latency precision or an audio enthusiast looking for top-tier sound quality, these earphones deliver on multiple fronts.
