Huawei Watch GT2 free new feature
The Huawei Watch GT2 was one of my favourite wearables launched last September, thanks to two-week battery life and stylish looks.
Recently Huawei released a free firmware update that enables a new SpO2 blood oxygen measuring feature, something that their recently released Watch GT2e came as standard with.
This is a nice addition to the health features of the GT2, which allows you to track your blood oxygen saturation levels at any time, but is especially useful during exercise.
It’s essentially a measurement of the volume of oxygen absorbed by the blood. Normal levels should be between 90%-100%.
Lower levels than that can cause health issues including Hypoxemia, which can cause mild problems such as headaches and shortness of breath.
Older people or those living in higher altitudes are also likely to suffer from low oxygen levels.
The new SpO2 feature works a little like the heart rate monitor, but I found it worked less reliably than the latter.
You have to keep the watch still, facing up and tight to your wrist for it to work.
The feature is also a convenient feature for those into sports and fitness as a way of monitoring oxygen levels during intense workout sessions.
