Twitter updates service with anti-abuse tools
To combat abusive behaviour, Twitter will now:
- Identify users permanently suspended from Twitter for abuse and prevent them from creating new accounts
- Introduce a ‘safe search’ feature which removes blocked and muted accounts plus potentially sensitive content from search results
- Identify and collapse potentially abusive or low-quality Tweets and instead focus on relevant conversations
Twitter has repeatedly come under fire in recent months for not doing enough to protect its users from cyberbullying.
